Parts Finder™

Parts Finder uses the selected asset’s fitment information to organize three different jobs: finding normal repair parts, locating used / salvage inventory and researching performance upgrades.

What this section does.

This page describes the capability architecture represented in the current Crank development build. Interface wording may continue to be polished, but the functions below are the working product structure.

Repair & Replacement

A general parts lane for service items and repairs such as brakes, filters, belts, sensors and other replacement components.

Used & Salvage Parts

A dedicated route for recycled OEM / salvage searches where interchange and inventory matter more than new-retail cataloging.

Performance & Upgrades

A separate lane for upgrade-oriented searches so performance research does not get mixed into ordinary replacement-part workflows.

Selected-asset fitment

Year, make, model, engine, trim and other available asset data can be presented before leaving Crank.

Copy by field

Individual fitment fields can be copied when a vendor or recycler only needs part of the vehicle description.

Copy complete fitment

The operator can also carry a complete fitment block into an outside search or vendor conversation.

Search term retention

The part description stays visible as the operator moves between sources instead of having to remember or retype the request.

External vendor handoff

Crank can hand the operator to selected web/vendor resources while keeping the user in control of the search.

No parts conviction from a code

Parts Finder remains separate from the diagnostic rule that a trouble code is a clue, not proof that a named component must be replaced.

How it fits together.

Step 1Select asset
Step 2Choose parts lane
Step 3Enter part / need
Step 4Review fitment
Step 5Hand off to source
Crank truth boundary: Parts Finder is a fitment-and-search aid. Crank does not treat a DTC as a parts order and does not need affiliate steering or repair-pain monetization to be useful.
