My Collections
Not everything worth keeping track of has an engine or a serial plate. My Collections is the private place in Crank for the things you collect, care for and want to remember — cards, pets, figurines, memorabilia, hobbies and anything else you choose to catalog.

My Collections is intentionally broad. Crank does not decide what is worth cataloging — you do. Create a collection, name it the way you think about it, organize it as deeply or as simply as you want, and keep the information that makes each item meaningful to you.
Teddy bears and plush collections
Organize by maker, era, character, family history, condition, display location or your own categories.
Pets and companions
Give each pet a place for identity photos, notes, documents, dates and the information you want to remember without pretending a pet is a vehicle or machine.
Figurines, models and memorabilia
Keep series, character, edition, purchase history, photos, certificates, packaging notes or display location together.
Coins, stamps, comics and keepsakes
Build folders and subfolders that match the way your real collection is arranged instead of forcing it into somebody else’s catalog.
Anything else you choose

Separate by design
Collections belong in Crank without pretending they are machines.
Asset Library and My Collections solve two different jobs. Keeping them separate protects the part of Crank that decides which vehicle or machine owns diagnostics, maintenance and operating evidence.
Operational Asset
A vehicle or piece of equipment can own Reader settings, Runtime Gauges, PM history, Service Command Center work, CrankScope evidence and other operating records. One operational asset can be selected across Crank at a time.
Collection Item
A collection item owns its photos, documents, notes, identity, tags, location and custom fields. Opening a card, teddy bear, figurine or pet record never changes the vehicle or equipment Crank has selected for operational work.
Crank truth boundary: A collection item is not an OBD asset, does not receive Runtime Gauges, and cannot silently become the owner of vehicle or equipment evidence. My Collections expands what Crank can organize without weakening what “selected asset” means.

Build the collection the way you already think about it.
A collection can be one flat list or a deep library. The structure should serve the owner, not force every hobby into the same template.

Start with the record. Add complexity only when it helps.
The first My Collections experience is intended to make local cataloging genuinely useful before adding outside databases, valuation services or marketplace features.
Create collections and nested folders
Use names and structures that make sense for your own collection, including multiple levels when a large library needs them.
Create persistent item records
Each item gets its own identity rather than existing only as a filename in a photo gallery.
Attach identity photos
Front, back, label, certificate, condition or reference photos can stay with the item they describe.
Keep documents and notes
Receipts, certificates, care information, provenance notes, stories and other context can live beside the item.
Create your own fields
Set, number, rarity, grade, breed, birthday, maker, edition, location or any field you decide belongs in that collection.
Keep it local-first
Your collection should remain useful without requiring an account-first cloud catalog or automatic upload of the things you own.
Coming to My Garage: My Collections is being added as a separate Crank area. It will not replace Asset Library or change the selected vehicle or equipment when you browse a collection.
Photos with a job to do
Item photos and general Galleries can live side by side.
A photo deliberately attached to one collection item becomes part of that item’s record. General hobby, family, event or collection photography can remain in Galleries. The same picture does not have to be turned into a fake machine record just to stay findable.
