Crank Main • calm incident guidance
C.A.T.A.S.T.R.O.P.H.E. is Crank’s prominent incident-guidance path. Its purpose is to help the operator slow the situation down, preserve useful context and get to the right assistance path without pretending the app replaces emergency or professional services.
Current capability map
This page describes the capability architecture represented in the current Crank development build. Interface wording may continue to be polished, but the functions below are the working product structure.
The lane stays on Crank Main because incident guidance should not require menu hunting.
The interface is designed to reduce random action and help the operator move through a deliberate set of next steps.
Notes, photos, location and other available evidence can support a later conversation with roadside assistance, a mechanic, insurer or other appropriate party.
Crank can direct the operator toward outside assistance resources rather than claiming to provide the external service itself.
The lane remains useful when the vehicle is not OBD-capable or when diagnostic communication is unavailable.
The workflow favors documenting what happened over jumping immediately to a parts or fault conclusion.
The app does not replace emergency services, medical care, legal advice, insurance guidance or professional roadside judgment.
After the immediate issue is stabilized, records can support Codes / Reader, Parts Finder, Driver Suite or V.A.U.L.T. follow-up.
Any Crank-created incident evidence remains under the operator’s local control unless they choose to share it.
