How Dingfelder.co, Crank™ Driver Companion, and Crank Companion Free Reader handle information.

This Privacy Policy applies to dingfelder.co and to the apps published under the Dingfelder.co public developer brand / Fortune Four Trading Company, LLC, including Crank™ Driver Companion and Crank Companion Free Reader.
Dingfelder.co is the public developer brand. Fortune Four Trading Company, LLC is the legal Play Console / payments identity for app publishing. Dingfelder Enterprises is the operating/site brand used for industrial engineering, automation, training, and related product work.
Our Position
Your data belongs to you.
Crank™ is designed as a local-first vehicle, equipment, route, experience, and evidence companion. Dingfelder.co does not collect, sell, mine, or automatically upload your Crank records. Crank does not run popup ads and does not require a Dingfelder.co cloud account.
Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to export or share it.
Website Information
When you use dingfelder.co, we may receive information you provide through contact forms or messages, such as your name, email address, phone number, company or organization, and the content of your message.
Our hosting, security, analytics, or communication providers may also process technical information such as IP address, browser/device information, pages visited, timestamps, referral sources, and similar website-operation data. We use this information to operate the website, respond to inquiries, improve security, and support business operations.
We do not sell personal information.

Information Crank™ Driver Companion May Use
Vehicle and OBD-II Information
When connected to a compatible OBD-II reader, Crank may read supported vehicle data such as diagnostic trouble codes, live data values, adapter status, voltage, RPM, speed, coolant temperature, throttle position, fuel trim values, and other information exposed by the connected reader and vehicle.
Availability depends on the vehicle, adapter, protocol, permissions, and supported data path.
Location and Route Information
When you start a feature that uses location, Crank may record GPS/location data for route review, dropped points, mileage, Experience Recorder sessions, Motorheads™ records, map evidence, and related V.A.U.L.T. records.
Location records are stored locally unless you choose to export or share them.
Motion and Sensor Information
Crank may use device sensors such as accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, orientation, pitch, roll, and related motion values for features such as Experience Recorder, vibration review, runtime gauges, route confidence, and field instruments.
Photos and Camera
When you choose to capture photo evidence, Crank may use your device camera and save selected photos as part of your local V.A.U.L.T. records or Secure Handoff packages.
Crank does not secretly take photos. Photo evidence is operator initiated.
Files and Local Records
Crank creates local files such as reports, route records, images, event logs, encrypted handoff packages, CSV files, JSON files, and V.A.U.L.T. records.
These records are stored locally on your device unless you choose to export or share them.
Bluetooth / Nearby Devices
Crank may use Bluetooth or nearby-device permissions to connect with compatible OBD-II readers or related hardware selected by the operator.
Crank does not use Bluetooth to track unrelated devices.
Notifications and Foreground Recording
Crank may use notifications and foreground-service behavior to keep an active recording or monitoring session visible and reliable while the screen is off or while you use other apps.
This is intended to prevent a user-started session from being silently stopped by the device.
Crank Companion Free Reader
Crank Companion Free Reader is an ultra-lite viewer for encrypted Crank Secure Handoff™ packages.
The Reader may access only the .crankpack file you choose to open. It decrypts selected packages locally on your device using the unlock code provided separately by the sender.
The Reader does not scan vehicles, record experiences, create reports, edit evidence, upload data, sell data, or require an account.
Secure Handoff™
Crank Secure Handoff™ packages are encrypted locally before sharing.
The recipient must have the package and the unlock code. The unlock code should be provided separately from the package.
Secure Handoff is intended to reduce the risk of someone reading a package if the file is sent to the wrong person or copied without the unlock code.
Data Sharing
Crank and Crank Companion Free Reader do not automatically share your records.
You may choose to share or export files through Android share/export features, email, messaging apps, cloud drives, removable storage, or other destinations you select.
Once you share a file outside the app, that file is handled by the destination service or recipient you chose.
External Services and User-Directed Handoffs
Dingfelder.co does not collect, receive, store, sell, or mine your Crank records, route records, photos, OBD-II records, Secure Handoff packages, searches, travel inquiries, or parts/vendor lookups.
Some Crank features may open or hand off information to external services selected by the user or available on the user’s device. Examples may include Google Maps, Google Search, parts suppliers, repair shops, towing services, travel agencies, browser links, email apps, messaging apps, cloud drives, or other third-party apps and websites.
When you choose to open one of those services, that service operates under its own terms, privacy policy, account settings, app permissions, browser settings, and privacy selections on your device. Dingfelder.co does not control those third-party services and does not receive their private account data, payment information, search history, purchase history, map history, or advertising profile.
For example, Crank may help prepare a map, search, vendor, travel, or service lookup and then pass that request to a browser, Google Maps, Google Search, or another external app. The external service may process the request according to your settings with that provider. Crank does not scrape vendor results, rank vendors for payment, receive vendor commissions, harvest search results, or silently upload your local Crank records.
If a third-party SDK or Android platform service processes limited technical information to display maps, open links, process payments through Google Play, operate the device, or complete a user-selected handoff, that processing is governed by that provider’s terms and privacy practices. Dingfelder.co’s own app design remains local-first and operator-controlled.
Data Selling
We do not sell user data.
Advertising
Crank™ Driver Companion and Crank Companion Free Reader do not contain popup ads.
Dingfelder.co does not offer a free, ad-loaded version of the full Crank app because we do not believe in ruining the operator experience with popup ads.
Accounts, Payments, and Cloud Storage
Crank does not require a Dingfelder.co account to create local records.
Crank Companion Free Reader does not require an account.
If Crank™ Driver Companion is purchased through Google Play, payment processing is handled by Google Play and its payment systems. Dingfelder.co does not receive your full payment-card information from Google Play.
Crank does not require a Dingfelder.co cloud account and does not automatically upload your V.A.U.L.T. records.
If you choose to share or export files to a third-party cloud service, that action is controlled by you and subject to that third party’s terms and privacy practices.
Data Retention
Crank records are stored locally on your device until you delete them, uninstall the app, clear app data, or move/export/delete files through device tools or Crank features.
Secure Handoff packages and exported files remain wherever you save or send them.
Website contact or support messages may be retained as needed for support, business records, security, legal compliance, or operational purposes.
Children
Crank™ Driver Companion and Crank Companion Free Reader are not designed for children and are not intended for use as children’s apps.
Safety and Accuracy Notes
Crank is an evidence, record, and companion tool. It is not a substitute for professional vehicle diagnosis, safe driving, repair procedures, medical guidance, legal advice, or emergency services.
GPS, motion, OBD-II, map, and sensor information may be affected by device placement, permissions, vehicle support, adapter support, signal quality, environment, and operator use.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the apps, website, legal requirements, platform requirements, or operating practices evolve.
